On behalf of Social Pharmacy Research Unit (SPR), the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Social Research Institute, Chulalongkorn University, Drug System Monitoring and Development Program (DMD), Health Consumer Protection Program (HCP), Pharmacy Network for Health Promotion (PNHP), and Pharmacy for Society Foundation (PSF), including Pharmacy Education Consortium of Thailand (PECT) and the Pharmacy Council, we are all honored to be hosting such a great 17th International Social Pharmacy Workshop (ISPW), with the theme entitled “Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical & Health Consumer Protection”. The workshop will be held from Monday 23rd July to Thursday 26th July, 2012.

           The Organizing Committee of the 17th International Social Pharmacy Workshop would like to extend you a very warm and friendly welcome to Phuket, Thailand. Thailand is often portrayed as the happy-go-lucky “Land of Smiles”, abundant of warm and friendly people who will surely make you good impression throughout the trip.

           The 17th ISPW aims to bring together academic scholars, pharmacists and people who are interested in social pharmacy and public health around the world to improve and strengthen the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists regarding pharmacy practice & health consumer protection at all levels! Plenary Key Speakers will also provide participants with in-depth information and fruitful discussion on the topic of “Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical & Health Consumer Protection”. As health care services play an important role in people’s health, participants will deeply acknowledge means of consumer protection through a variety of health products which are now available in the market. Moreover, participants will recognize our professional and efficient roles we have performed on medicines management and consumer health protection. In 17th ISPW, the series of workshops, a backbone of the meeting, are organized for you to participate more in the meeting and obtain the useful data as much as possible. Apart from that, the program includes a great number of oral communications and poster presentations. We assure you will find it rewarding and stimulating in this meeting.
